CURRENT helps you gather yourself. READ · RELATE · LEAD helps you think through an interaction.
You might use one when you’re putting something off, juggling responsibilities, preparing for a conversation, or trying to decide what comes next.
The CURRENT Method
Draw on the movements that help. You don’t need to work through all seven every time.
Center
Arrive and notice what’s happening in you.
Understand
Check in with what’s actually going on.
Reflect
Separate what you know from the interpretations you’re adding.
Reorient
Find the edge of your acre: what is yours to tend?
Envision
Consider your possible next moves.
Nourish
Notice what your energy, attention, and capacity need.
Take the step
Choose one useful movement. Sometimes that means waiting with intention.
The READ · RELATE · LEAD Method
Read before assuming
Describe what happened. Stay curious about what you don’t know.
Relate before correcting
Consider what the other person may be dealing with, then name your own needs. Both deserve attention.
Lead without escalating
Choose a response: clarify, connect, make a request, set a boundary, pause, or take a practical step.
READ · RELATE · LEAD is for everyday interactions where you can speak up, disagree, and set limits without fear. If you’re worried about harm or retaliation, prioritize safety and appropriate support.
